Amy Allara’s poems, essays, and book reviews have appeared in a variety of literary and academic publications since 2001. She has published four chapbooks, Variation (Highway 101 Books) followed by Theory of Consequence, Unfamiliar Terms, and Eight (Magra Books). Allara is a classically trained pianist, studying from age six to sixteen. Though never a professional pursuit, she considers her study of the piano and enduring interest in music to be—immutably—at the center of who she is as a writer, and as a person in the world.
